Protein is required during the breeding season. Boiled egg is the best quality protein you can provide to your breeding birds. Soaked seeds can be used also as both protein and energy source.

Energy sources should be available for a successful breeding. Energy requirements for breeding canaries are nine times more than non breeding canaries. Energy also is needed for the proper growth of growing chicks. Energy comes from different seeds fed to birds, from soft food and soaked feed.

Pay attention also to vitamin/mineral supplements.
